What is guided meditation?
Guided meditation is meditation which has a structured component lead by a narrator. Meditation is time set aside by the participant to focus on relaxation and clearing one’s thoughts in order to achieve physical and mental health benefits of reduced stress and personal actuation.
Often times, people who have tried meditation on their own feel like they are doing it wrong or are worried about stray thoughts. Guided meditation provides the structure and instruction to help remove that worry from the equation
Why should you join us for a guided meditation session?
It is free and open to everyone! Meditation has numerous physical and mental health benefits. It is used by numerous groups such as the US military, hospitals, addiction and chronic illness management agencies, and sports to promote relaxation and decrease stress.
Meditation has been scientifically proven to reduce stress which in turn reduces inflammation, pain, blood pressure, anxiety, and depression.
It has been shown to better mood, immunity, concentration, and memory retention. There is no need for experience as structured guidance will be provided.
By attending a guided meditation, it is easier to avoid distractions that may be present in the home, and allows for the participant to set aside a scheduled time dedicated to relaxation. Participating in a guided meditation session allows you to take part in your health, as well as promoting positive choices in dealing with stress, illness, and overall daily life. Guided meditation sessions also provide for the opportunity to engage other community members and providing positive social interaction.
