These programs are complimentary and are designed to help you care for someone with Alzheimer’s disease, link you to community resources, and provide support.
If you are currently caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementia, they are invited to come a long. They will participate in an engaging activity while you attend the educational program.
The objective of this series is: For caregivers or participants to walk away with a better understanding of Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
Participants will learn approaches to caregiving and open themselves up to new ways of doing things.
May 21: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia: Caring for the Person
June 18: Habilitation Therapy: An effective treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias.
July 16: Communication skills: We need to know the language.
August 20: Does the physical environment make a difference?
September 17: Our approach to personal care.
October 15: Behavior as communication: Understanding and responding.
Each program will begin at 4:00 PM and will last about 1 hour.
A special dessert will be served during each event.
